Taxes are mandatory payments made by individuals and businesses to the government. They fund various public services and infrastructure that benefit society as a whole.


Why Do We Pay Taxes?

Taxes help pay for things like:

· Education: Funding for public schools and universities.

· Healthcare: Supporting hospitals, clinics, and public health initiatives.

· Infrastructure: Building and maintaining roads, bridges, and public transportation.

· Public Safety: Funding for police, firefighters, and emergency services.

· Social Services: Programs that support people in need, like unemployment benefits and social security.


Types of Taxes:

· Income Tax: This money is taken from your earnings. When you get a job and receive a salary, a portion goes to the government. Sometimes someone may not earn enough to pay tax. This helps the lower income earning population of that country.

· Sales Tax: Added to the cost of things you buy. When you purchase an item at a store, a percentage of the price is added as tax.

· Property Tax: Paid by property owners based on the value of their land and buildings.

· Payroll Tax: Taken from your salary to fund Social Security and Medicare.
